Morris Plains, NJ, April 16, 2009 – On April 21, 2009, Skila’s Karen Massand, Managing Director Strategic Advisory, will participate in a panel discussion, “Pharma & Biotech on the Web” at the New York Biotechnology Association (NYBA) 18th Annual Meeting being held in New York City.
The panel will discuss the latest trends and future of the web as a major component of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies’ operations and marketing strategies. Skila’s Karen Massand will discuss how life science organizations can become “partners of choice” and maximize alliances by leveraging the web for successful alliance management.
“A critical component of being partner focused and building strong alliance relationships is transparency,” says Karen Massand, Managing Director Strategic Advisory Services, Skila. “Web technology facilitates that transparency, allowing partners to optimize collaboration and build trust. Alliance partners that foster open communication, ensure alliance commitments are met and continuously monitor alliance health are ‘Partners of Choice’."
The NYBA 18th Annual Meeting will take place April 20 and 21, 2009 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City and will have a special focus on partnering between emerging biotech companies and large bio and pharmaceutical corporations. Highlights of the Annual Meeting will include a keynote address by Billy Tauzin, CEO of PhRMA (Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association) and an important plenary roundtable featuring senior licensing and business development executives from Merck, Pfizer and other major companies.
